ramen rating: myojo tonkotsu

October 19, 2005 By: edjusted Category: nama ramen

This tonkotsu ramen is made in the U.S., so you probably have a relatively better chance of finding this one than some of the other imports I’ve rated! The noodles are chewy and good…not quite as good as the tsukemen noodles from a few days ago, but good, and the soup is very good, especially on a cold day like today. This gets a solid 8 overall!

hey, why are these supposed authentic japanese pre-packaged ramen noods made in the u.s.? i am not japanese, but if a japanese knew this, they might get all nationalistic and swear off this brand forever… or not.

but i also heard that the rice that goes into pre-made konbini onigiri’s in japan, is from the u.s. cause it’s cheaper! holy shit!

anyway, nice page, and to the point -i am going to try the pre-packaged thing for the first time tonight based on your reviews.

i guess there’s enough of a market for some brands to set up factories and make the ramen here. i guess it’s kind of like how honda’s are made in ohio these days. you’re right about rice being a big issue in asian counties though. there was a big demonstration in south korea just a few days ago about importing rice. thanks for the comments and hope you like the ramen!
