Any let-down in flavor of that broth would have a higher magnitude. Good to hear Gardena, for the most part, didn't let you down. There's a small ramen shop in Waikiki that recently closed down after years of operation there. They usually looked slow, and I can't attest to their product, as I've never been in the place (shamefully).
